The 73rd San Francisco Boat Race dinner celebrates the 154th Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race. It promises to be a fine affair in the elegant ambience of the University Club atop Nob Hill in the heart of San Francisco. The University Club is located at Powell and California Streets, adjacent to the Fairmont Hotel.
This year's distinguished guest speaker is filmmaker, screen writer and novelist Jonathan Lynn (Pembroke College, Cambridge and former member of Footlights). He was creator and scriptwriter for the BBC's phenomena 'Yes, Minister' and 'Yes, Prime Minister', which have been translated into numerous languages and for which he won the British Academy Writers' Award. Among his many movies are 'The Whole Nine
Yards', 'Nuns on the Run' and 'My Cousin Vinny.' He has also directed numerous plays, including 'The Glass Menagerie' (working with Tennessee Williams) and Joe Orton's 'Loot'. He lives in Los Angeles.
Co-chairs are Dennis Bonney (Hertford, Oxford) and Peter Robinson (Fitzwilliam, Cambridge).
Cocktails are at 5:30 pm and dinner will be served at 7:15 pm. The Boat Race video will be played before dinner at 6:15 pm and again after dinner.

The dinner, including wine, is $94 for adults and $89 for seniors and students. Special rates are available for bookings made before March 17th 2008. Note that there is a limit of one accompanying guest for each Oxford or Cambridge alumnus.
